PIC’s Social Innovation Lab (SI Lab) has started its Masterclass sessions for social enterprises, starting from May 2024 to September 2024. Different sessions have been conducted under the masterclass sessions.

Sessions were held on the following topics in the Masterclass Series:

Topic Description
Ideation Tools and Applications Mr. Pramod Athalye, a mentor at SI Lab, discussed creative tools for team collaboration, enhancement of products and services, generation of alternatives to problems, and seizing opportunities. He also elaborated on ideation tools such as brainstorming, mind mapping, scamper, nominal group technique (NGT), and evaluation matrix.
SWOT Analysis Mr. Gaurav Chattur, co-founder and Managing Director of Catenon, discussed the role of SWOT in business planning; applying SWOT to design strategy; defining goals and objectives to support strategy; and implementing initiatives to ensure growth and development, citing the example of Zomato and a regional store.
Human Resource Management Ms. Minakshi Kotwani, founder of Growing People conducted the session on Human Resource Management. Topics such as managing human resources for social entrepreneurs in the early startup phase, hiring with budget constraints for social organisations and nonprofits, and employee upskilling and training were discussed in the session.
Company and Legal Compliance The Legal Compliance session was conducted by Mr. Hemant Kelkar, Founder of VCounsel Legal Services. Basics of regulatory compliance, company due diligence, employment laws and regulations, including hiring practices and employee rights were discussed by Mr. Kelkar.
CSR Requirements Management Dr. Anil Dhaneshwar discussed the constituents of CSR; issues that are in implementation now; what an NGO should have; weaknesses of the NGO sector in India; and what NGOs need to do now, in the CSR requirements management session.
Financial Compliance Financial Compliance session was conducted by Mr. Vishal Gawade, CA. Topics such as financial management, financial reporting and documentation, budgeting and forecasting, basic accounting and bookkeeping were highlighted during this session.
Crafting an Impactful Pitch Deck Mr. Anirudha Modak, Founder of Guru on Tap, conducted a session on Crafting an Impactful Pitch Deck. The basics of structure and format of the deck, problem statement, solutions (products/services), market, business model, adoption strategy, competition, and competitive advantage were discussed in this session.
Logistics & Supply Chain Management Sharadchandra Kaulgud addressed key challenges faced by social enterprises, through the session on Logistics and Supply Chain Management. The session focused on inventory management, cost- effective transportation, and warehouse optimization. It also highlighted risk management strategies to enhance efficiency and sustainability.
Marketing Strategies and Branding for Start-ups The session on Marketing strategies and Branding for Start-ups was conducted by Ms. Nandita Khaire. She discussed topics such as identifying your target audience, crafting a compelling brand story, building a strong brand identity, measuring and evaluating marketing efforts, and ethical marketing practices for social enterprises.
Digital Marketing The session on Digital Marketing was conducted by Mr. Aniket Khare. He discussed digital marketing strategy, content marketing and storytelling, email marketing and automation, Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), and paid advertising.
Export & Import The session was conducted by Mr Kanchan Kulkarni (Director & COO Vishwaguru Infotech Pvt. Ltd.), who discussed introduced the process of export and import and the documentation to the attendees.
Effective Scaling Plan The session on the Effective Scaling Plan was conducted by Mr. Advait Kurlekar. He discussed identifying key growth drivers and constraints, developing a scalable business model, leveraging technology for scaling impact, building strategic partnerships for growth, and financial planning and management for scaling.
