The 1st and 2nd edition of NCSI (2013 and 2014)
The first edition of NCSI was launched in 2013 and was kicked off by the ever inspiring Dr. DR Mehta (Founder and Chief Patron, Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti) and was structured around the ennobling themes of Sahajta, Samvedna, Saralta, and Sampreshan. The 2014 edition grew bigger; several social innovators led by Dr. Devi Shetty continued to develop the ideas of social innovation. During this time, 100+ speakers and panellists graced the conference with their presence and provided several ideas. Prof. Anil Gupta and National Innovation Foundation played a big role and NIF continues as the partner to the programme.

NCSI 2016, held on 17-Nov-16, was the 4th edition of the conference and was attended by 400+ audience members and many through webcasting. The themes of the conference were Urban, Rural and Tribal and more than 17 innovators presented their innovation around these ideas. In addition:
- We had 25+ CSR participants from the leading organisations of India – ONGC, Reliance Foundation, ICICI Bank, Tata Trusts, and Mahindra etc.
- We saw participation from many fellow institutions working in Social Innovation – like Bhau Institute, Venture Centre and Pune Science and Technology Park – leading credence to the original vision of Mr Nandan Nilekani, who, at PIC’s inception, had said that PIC would be the Network of Networks.
- We started an international exchange programme where one social innovator from China presented in India and one went from India to China to present her work.
